The senior generation of the Son family is now down to two, with my father standing in the middle and my Tua Ko seated right side of my grandma. My Tua Ko had a stroke for many years already and she doesn't know that four of her siblings has been laid to rest.
The untimely passing away of Uncle Kiko is another big blow to our clan as this is the 6th death in three years. This was also one of the causes of my depression last September. The cousins were all kidding that how come every time we meet, its in the funeral parlor.
Uncle Kiko is known as the funny guy in the family. He loves to crack jokes and cheer people up. Though these past few years, we have not much acquaintances but I have good memories of my uncle when I was a kid.
I praise God that he passed away peacefully. I know that he was clear of his salvation; having put his trust in Jesus. I was able to administer rites of praying for him immediately after his passing away in the hospital, and also when he was laid to rest in the Chinese cemetery crematory. He was very peaceful, and I believe though we will miss him very much, God comforts dwells among us.
I thank God for this is some way of God given opportunity to minister to my own family and share the gospel to them.
I pray to our God who is faithful and true to continually being merciful to our clan and give us rest from attending funerals for many years to come. I also pray that the Lord will give me more opportunities to minister to my family members and usher them to the saving knowledge and wonderful life in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Valvular Heart Disease
Finally, I was able to visit a heart doctor and able to know the exact condition of my heart. So much speculations for the past month about my heart and really do not know how should this be treated and where to find the money for the treatment.
My heart disease was not hereditary, but is acquired. It was acquired according to my doctor when I was around five to 12 years old, probably from an infectious disease like tonsillitis. And I remembered well that those were the years that I am in and out of the doctor due to tonsillitis. The infection has calcified my value that prevents it from functioning normally. This was the main reason why my diastolic is ranging only from 45 to 60.
According to the doctor, there is no medicine to cure this problem. Only undergoing operation and changed the valve, which will cost money and maybe losts of money hehehe. Anyway, he said that there is nothing to be alarmed since some does not need an operation as long as I do not get any infectious disease that might aggravate the value problem. I just need to wait until my heart fails and then undergo the necessary operation - ok ba? He said he has a patient that live more than 20 years without undergoing operation. Anyway, just commit it to God.
At last, the pain that I am experiencing was not really my heart but my ulcer having problem.

Praise God for Linkages
Praise God for Linkages.
With my blood pressure uncertainty going on for weeks, I really need to see a heart doctor. It seems my condition is worsening or all is only in my mind hehehe. It seems I am again slipping into depression but I should not be distracted or I will not finish my dissertation on time.
Praise God for my friend Rio who is one of the secretary of Dr. Carlos Lu. She was able to insert me for an appointment tomorrow. I heard that Dr. Carlos Lu is no longer accepting new patients and so long the pila. Some will take six month in order to get an appointment with him.
Rio has been my classmate since elementary. I can still remember her being part of Hope Christian's famous Rondalla, now disband. She is a medical technologist. Through her, was able to make appointment with Dr. Lu, and enjoy discounts from Inter-Con Laboratories and Acu-vision. The discounts helped me a lot because I became a frequent visitor for check-ups with my bad health condition since last year.
Thanks Rio. I thank God for linkages.

The Spirit of Giving - Revived!
Honestly, though I am a pastor, I have been a violator of giving for the last three years. It seems that it was so difficult to get my budget approve; they always wanted to cut ministry budget. It is also very difficult even to get money from the church that has already been budgeted. They even ask pastors to submit quarterly financial reports though the church has a full time accountant.
With all of these hassles and red tapes, it was best that I just put my money and offering directly to my ministry - period. This saves me a lot of time in asking for money from the church and save my dignity from asking and sometimes worse "begging" for the release of my budgeted funds. Moreover, since many times I need to ask people for money to support my ministry because the allocated budget is not enough; it was really for the best interest of my ministry that I manage my offering on my own.
In several occasion, I have brought up to the attention of the concerned leaders that we need to place policies for the financial management of the church, so that there will be clear cut guidelines with our collection and disbursements, but years have passed nothing was done. Anyway, one of the challenge I accepted this week from the John Maxwell Seminar is about giving. So, I decided to give again to the church on a weekly basis.

Blessings... Meeting with People Unexpectedly
I thank God for guiding me through the process of my data gathering, He was helping me to get to see the right people at the right time.
I really had a problem gathering data in two schools; in one school, the chairman is the problem and in the other the principal is the problem. Both does not want me to have access to their school board. But God is gracious that the members of their board were in my church this week. I shared with them my dissertation and were so happy to help my by answering my questionnaire and was able to make interviews immediately. The situation even helped me save money from the plane fares I will incur if I will visit them in their schools.
God is indeed wonderful. He know and He provides. Praise the Lord!

Comprehensive Exam
Just got home for DLSU.
This is our last leg of academic requirements, the comprehensive exam. The batch was so stressed with our dissertation and now the five day comprehensive exam. The case was handed to us and we are to answer the case with the different theories and application we have learned throughout the different courses we have took up.
It a challenge and I better lock myself up for the next few days for this.
