The Spirit of Giving - Revived!

Honestly, though I am a pastor, I have been a violator of giving for the last three years. It seems that it was so difficult to get my budget approve; they always wanted to cut ministry budget. It is also very difficult even to get money from the church that has already been budgeted. They even ask pastors to submit quarterly financial reports though the church has a full time accountant.

With all of these hassles and red tapes, it was best that I just put my money and offering directly to my ministry - period. This saves me a lot of time in asking for money from the church and save my dignity from asking and sometimes worse "begging" for the release of my budgeted funds. Moreover, since many times I need to ask people for money to support my ministry because the allocated budget is not enough; it was really for the best interest of my ministry that I manage my offering on my own.

In several occasion, I have brought up to the attention of the concerned leaders that we need to place policies for the financial management of the church, so that there will be clear cut guidelines with our collection and disbursements, but years have passed nothing was done. Anyway, one of the challenge I accepted this week from the John Maxwell Seminar is about giving. So, I decided to give again to the church on a weekly basis.
