Seminar Workshop with Hope Faculty

I was asked to conduct a workshop with the faculty of Hope Christian High School on "Events Planning."  At first, I was hesitant to do this, but the continues prodding of Grace made me say yes.

How do you teach "Events Planning?"  I think this is impossible because each event is unique and each event requires different approach to make it successful.  Anyway, I prepared a lesson where we can learn from each other, I also gave tips with regards to my personal learnings and experiences on events planning.  It was sure hard.

At the end of the day, I felt I was highlighting and maybe at the very moment learned the following: When we do an event....
a. It should contribute to enhancing the mission-vision statement of the school.
b. It should be a wonderful and productive learning experience for the organizers.
c. All events should be a support to the academe targets and the holistic formation of the students, and not doing an event for the sake of doing an event.
d. If it becomes mere activities, scrap it.
e. It should not overburden the faculty but instead faculty feels encourage because it help their teachings lighter.
f. It should focus on one learning experience and not trying to hit too many bulls-eyes with a single arrow. The impact of the event should be well written way before the implementation of the event.
8. All events should be well budgeted since this is part of meeting the needs of the academe. And all budgets should be well itemized and canvassed before presenting a budget to the administration.
9. Always try to think of something unique that you would do to make your event significant.  Something that has not been done before.  It should be able to retain a memorable impression on both faculty and students.
10.  Try to deviate from the routine of events by creating new events that would still meet the targets and scrapping the old ones.

The workshop was very productive, we all have learned from each other.  My teachers were there Mrs. Divina, Mrs. Abad and Ms. Arenas.  Also my batchmates, Cynthia and Eden.... they were all very supportive.

I praise God that I can still serve my alma mater even in small ways...
