Mentoring Feelers

It has been our fourth meeting I think hehehe... It seems the last two meetings has been very productive for all of us.  I am refreshed through their sharing as well as from distancing myself from discipling young people lately.

It has been two years since I have decided not to get much involved in discipling our young people since I have already planned and decided through God's leading to leave UECP.  It is difficult to leave if we have too many baggages to carry.  It is heart-breaking to leave your group behind.

Strange but true.  It seems something struck me, when God has impressed on me to get this Feelers group on track.  Maybe this is the last group so far I would mentor before I totally bow out of UECP.  Feelers has been in existence for quite sometime now, but it seems they were not able to reach their maximum potential.  Some of them have even drifted away from church.  And only two or three of them are seriously involved in ministry.  I heard they have been passed from one counselor to another.  It seems no one lasted mentoring them.

Mentoring is a hard job and many people do not know how to really disciple people.  Most of the time the failure of discipleship ministry is the leader surrenders rather than the members surrender.

For the last two weeks of meeting, I saw the potential in every member of Feelers.  I hope that in these several months of fellowship, we would be able to make the most out of it in bringing the best from each one of them.

I also thank God, the last member has been found.  I was able to talk to Brian this morning and he agreed to rejoin the Feelers meeting every Friday.  If he would fulfill his promise then, Feelers is now a complete group once again.

Praise God…
